Effective February 1, 2019, our commission rate changed from 20% to 30% for Consignor sellers, defined as those with fewer than 10 active items for sale on our site. You can learn more about our Consignment Plans here.
Why are we making this change?
Because Consignor sellers are not as familiar with our platform, they generally require extra customer support throughout the selling process. Essentially, we’re increasing our commission rate for these sellers to reflect the real costs associated with servicing them as they build toward sufficiency and independence.
How and when will you determine inventory counts?
Any seller with 10 or more items live in their storefront on January 31, 2019 at 11:59PM PT will automatically be granted Professional Seller status (eligible for a 20% base commission rate) until February 1, 2020.
On February 1, 2019, sellers with fewer than 10 listings will be transitioned to the Consignor status. If at any point a Consignor seller subsequently hits 10 or more live listings, the account will be upgraded to Professional Seller status until February 1, 2020.
