COVID-19 is having a profound impact on the health of our community and many aspects of the home furnishings industry. While it remains unclear how long this unprecedented situation will continue, we want to assure you that we are doing our best to be helpful to you, our community of buyers and sellers. We are paying close attention to events and actively monitoring announcements from the CDC and other health agencies as they evolve and will keep you posted on important new developments.
Information for our Buyers:
Our inventory is available and deliverable. We’re fortunate that most of our inventory is already located here in the US with a wide variety of sellers, so we’re not facing the same supply chain challenges as some others. We are checking frequently to accommodate our sellers’ needs in the event government restrictions or other developments arise and we will communicate as needed.
Shipping and logistics are operational. We are talking every day to our network of shippers, and so far we can assure you that Chairish shipping is operating as usual. There may be small pockets of localized delays; if there are, we will continue to work with our shippers to resolve those as quickly as possible.
Our shipping partners for in - home deliveries have been classified as a business that employs essential critical infrastructure workers and therefore is able to continue to operate.
Our shipping partners are taking every precaution to ensure that pickups and deliveries are completed safely and with limited interpersonal contact. "In-home" deliveries during this time may mean delivery to the the first room available rather than your room of choice.
If accommodations are needed after an order is placed, we and our shippers are here to help.
Parcel delivery partners are committed to continuing service, including to restricted areas, and are adopting no-touch delivery procedures and keeping their drivers (and therefore their customers) safe in the process.
We temporarily restricted Local Pick-Up during the initial COVID-19 outbreak to help mitigate person-to-person contact and because most of these sales were not being fulfilled either by the buyer or the seller. Our community is becoming more comfortable arranging safe pickups, so we have since re-enabled this feature and you are once again able to see this option when purchasing.
Our team is 100% virtual and operating reliably. As Chairish was semi-virtual even before COVID -19 hit, the transition to fully virtual operations has gone remarkably smoothly.
Information for our Sellers:
Currently, Chairish parcel service is not experiencing any service interruptions. For in-home deliveries, most regions are also operating as usual, but we are monitoring those few areas where shelter-in-place restrictions exist. If accommodations are needed after an order is placed, we and our shippers are here to help. We will communicate proactively should we see any delays that may impact your shipments.
If you are unable to ship due to shelter-in-place restrictions or for other reasons, you can mark your shop with a “vacation hold,” whereby your items will remain for sale but buyers will simply be alerted to a delayed shipment date on the product display page.
For parcel shipments, if you cannot safely reach a drop-off location or you’re uncomfortable doing so, we recommend contacting UPS, FedEx or the USPS as appropriate to schedule a pickup from your location. (This does not apply to UPS Drop Off & Go).
If you are in a shelter- in- place location and are not able to get to a Drop Off & Go location, but can safely pack the item yourself, use the existing UPS label and schedule pickup directly with UPS. In order to ensure you are not charged for Drop Off & Go, email email@example.com to receive an adjustment to your payout.
