This article describes how seller's can set up their accounts to receive payments generated from their sales on Chairish.
This article contains the following sections:
Setting Up Seller Payment Accounts
Chairish processes payments for completed transactions electronically via either Stripe Connect or PayPal.
As a Chairish Seller, you pay no additional fees for processing - Chairish pays our payment partners a small transaction fee for each payment, which we absorb. If you are familiar with transfer limits - don't worry! Transfer limits on Chairish payments are higher than you may be accustomed to and this should never be an issue. As a corporate account, many of the rules that apply to individual PayPal or Stripe accounts and transfers do not apply to Chairish.

- Click here for more information about the seller payment schedule.
- Updates to your payment account information will apply to future payouts. If a payout has already been initiated, it cannot be redirected.
Be sure to set up your payment account before your first sale, to avoid processing delays!
Stripe Connect (Bank Transfers)
Most sellers find Stripe Connect to be the easiest option for receiving payments. Stripe Connect enables Chairish to pay sellers via bank transfers, ensuring they are paid automatically after each sale is delivered and closed. Payment transfers can be made directly to your bank account or to your debit card. All you need to get started is a bank account!
In order to participate in payment transfers, you will need:
- A U.S. bank account
- A phone that can receive SMS text messaging (in order to receive the verification code during the set up)
Follow the steps below to connect your bank account:
- Log into your Chairish account and go to Settings > Payment Settings.
- Click on the Sign Up Now link under the 'Bank Transfer Information' section, where you will be guided through an easy four step process that includes:
- Contact Information
- Verification Code
- Account Details
- Payout Details
- Once set up is completed, you will see a confirmation banner on the Payment Settings screen.
- Stripe may reach out to you for further information in order to verify your identity, including your name and SSN. Federal law prohibits the transfer of large sums of money without identity verification.
Once Chairish pays out to your Stripe account, Stripe will transfer the funds to your bank account. This takes up to three business days. There is a one-time verification process upon connecting your account. This process may delay your first (and only your first!) payment.
To view your pending payouts from Chairish, go to your Payment Settings page and click on the You can see a list of pending transfer here link. This will take you the Stripe site where you can see pending payouts. Click here for more information about the seller payment schedule.
If you are not able to successfully set up an account, double check the phone number and bank account information you entered, as these are the most common causes of errors. If verification of these fields does not rectify the situation, please contact support@stripe.com.
PayPal
PayPal allows us to safely ensure that all sellers are paid automatically after each sale is delivered and closed.
To receive payments via PayPal, you will need to create a PayPal account:
- Go to www.paypal.com and sign up for free.
- Once you have signed up for PayPal, log into your Chairish account and go to Settings > Payment Settings to add your PayPal account information.
- We'll send you a verification email to the email account associated with your PayPal account.
- Click on the Verify link/button in the verification email. You will then need to log into your Chairish account to finish verification (if you are not already logged in).
If you have any trouble verifying your PayPal account, please make sure that you are checking the email account associated with your PayPal account rather than your Chairish account (if they are not the same). Please then be sure to check your Spam, Promotions, and/or Junk email folders as these emails can end up there rather than in your primary inbox.
Failed PayPal Payments
If you received a notification that your PayPal payment failed:
- Go to your Payment Settings page and make sure your PayPal information is entered correctly.
- Contact support@chairish.com to arrange for payment to be sent again.
Unclaimed PayPal Payments
An "unclaimed" status in PayPal means the recipient has not yet accepted or received the funds. The money remains in limbo for up to 30 days before automatically returning to the sender.
Common Reasons for Unclaimed Payments:
- Unregistered/Unconfirmed Email: The payment was sent to an email address not associated with a verified PayPal account. Confirm your email address is correct by logging into Chairish and accessing your 'Payment Settings' page.
- Currency Mismatch: The recipient has not authorized automatic acceptance of the currency sent.
- Recipient Preferences: The recipient's account settings require them to manually approve all incoming payments.
To resolve Unclaimed Payments, log in to your PayPal account and check your notifications to accept the payment, or add and confirm the email address used. If your email address is not confirmed in PayPal, payments may be unclaimed.
