Delivery Delay Policy
At Chairish, we aim to get your purchases to you as quickly as possible. However, we understand that sometimes your space isn't quite ready for its new addition. If you need to delay the in-home delivery (Chairish-Managed or Seller-Managed) of an item that is in transit, please review our policy and available options below.
Because our sellers receive their payment only after an item is successfully delivered, all delivery delay requests are subject to approval by the seller. If a delay is approved, and the item is already in transit, the following fees apply:
- Administrative fee: A flat fee of $250.00 will be charged to manage the re-routing and logistics of the delay.
- Storage Costs: In addition to the flat fee, the buyer is responsible for any applicable storage fees charged by the carrier. These costs vary based on the duration of the delay and the size of the item.
If a seller does not approve a delay, the item must be delivered within the original estimated window to the address on file.
Alternative Options
To avoid extended storage fees and ensure the seller is paid in a timely manner, we are happy to deliver your item to a storage unit of your choosing.
- The storage unit must be located within 30 miles of the original delivery address provided on the order.
This allows the carrier to complete the delivery and the seller to receive their payout, while giving you the flexibility to move the item into your home when you are ready. All sales are final 48 hours after delivery.
Requesting a Delay
If you anticipate needing a delivery delay, please contact us as soon as possible.
Our team will reach out to the seller to secure their approval and coordinate with the shipping partner.
Delivery cannot be rescheduled until all applicable fees are paid in full. If payment is not received within a reasonable timeframe, the order may be subject to return, and applicable shipping, administrative, and storage fees may apply.
