This article describes how a seller can place their shop on a Vacation Hold (aka. Vacation Mode), how that impacts their interactions with buyers, and how they can manage their vacation hold dates/return.

What is a Vacation Hold?
Vacation Mode lets you temporarily put your shop on hold. While in Vacation Mode, your vacation end date will be displayed on your item listings. Shoppers will still be able to make offers or purchase your items, but will be informed that there may be a delay in shipping.
The estimated arrival dates the shopper sees on your listing will reflect your vacation hold dates.
Your vacation hold dates will also be reflected in the estimated delivery dates that appear on the checkout page when the buyer is prompted to select a Shipping Method.
Turning On Vacation Mode
To turn on Vacation Mode:
- Login to your Chairish seller account.
- Click on the Vacation Settings link on the left side of your Seller Dashboard.
- A pop-up window will open.
- You can also find your Vacation Settings in the top right corner of your My Listings page.
- Toggle Vacation Mode to the On position.
- A Date field will appear, click on the first date that you will not be available, and then click on your return date.
- The dates of your selected vacation will be highlighted.
- The dates of your selected vacation will be highlighted.
- Once you've selected your dates, click the Submit button.
You can see your selected Vacation Hold dates in the top left corner of your Seller Dashboard.
Extending a Vacation Hold
If you need to extend your vacation hold beyond the dates you originally selected, you will need to take your shop off of Vacation Mode and then put your shop back in Vacation Mode again with your updated vacation dates.
Turning Off Vacation Mode
When you return from vacation, you will need to manually turn off Vacation Mode so your shop can resume normally.
To turn off Vacation Mode:
- Login to your Chairish seller account.
- Click on the Vacation Settings link on the left side of your Seller Dashboard.
- A pop-up window will open.
- Toggle Vacation Mode to the Off position and close the pop-up window.
Returning From Vacation
Upon return, we highly recommend you check your To Do List so that you can:
- Respond to your messages.
- Respond to your offers.
- Respond to any Hold requests.
- See which items have been purchased so that you can prepare them for shipping.
- Parcel items that were purchased while your shop was on vacation hold must be shipped within three days of returning from vacation.
- Review your My Listings page to see if any of your listings need to be renewed, marked down, updated, etc.
