Building a Title
Optimize the discoverability of your items, while avoiding accidental misrepresentation or confusion with your titles. Google typically truncates page titles over 55-65 characters in length, with the most weight given to the words used first- so concise titles are key!
Your title should contain at least 4 words, and no more than 10 (excluding quantity, if you are selling multiple pieces in the listing).
It is important that your title flows well and is grammatically correct for a professional look and feel. If you are trying to optimize searchability, include additional relevant keywords in the description.

General title format for furniture + décor:
Date/Period + Maker/Brand + Style + Color + Material + Category + # of Pieces (if applicable)
If you don’t know the maker, date, or style, be as detailed as possible with the details you do know about your item.
Generic title structure for art listings:
Date + Artwork Title + Style + Color + Medium + Artist Name
The title structure for art is slightly different to highlight important elements like the medium and the artist’s name. If the artist’s name is unknown, describe the subject and style to the best of your knowledge.
The Dos & Don'ts of Listing Titles
If a title contains non-compliant terms, the price, misrepresents an aspect of the item, etc., the item may not pass the initial Curatorial Review process. You would then need to update the title in order to successfully list the item.
