This article describes how you can cancel an order you placed through Chairish, along with your responsibilities in regards to the cancellation.

How Order Cancellations Work
Prior to purchasing an item, it is important that you thoroughly review the item listing to ensure you're getting exactly what you're looking for, and to make sure you're aware of any imperfections the item may have.

Prior to shipping, local pickup, or local delivery, buyers may be able to cancel an order for up to 48 hours.
Once a cancellation is confirmed, refunds are issued to your original payment method. You will receive an email notice when your refund has been issued.
If you used a promo code or rewards on the cancelled order and want to apply them to a new purchase, contact us- we can help reinstate the code or provide an equivalent, when appropriate.
Cancellation Timelines
Prior to shipping, local pickup, or local delivery, buyers may be able to cancel an order for up to 48 hours.
Local Pickup and Delivery
You or your agent must reject the item at the time of pickup or delivery from the seller. After you take the item with you or accept the local delivery, the order cannot be cancelled, and the item is non-returnable.
After 48 hours, or once shipping has been initiated
After 48 hours, shipping costs will not be refunded and the cancellation will be considered a return. If possible, we may attempt to prevent delivery.
If the item has already shipped, you will be responsible for packaging and shipping the return, and both the outbound and return shipping costs will be deducted from your refund.
Made-to-Order Items
Made-to-Order items may be canceled up to 24 hours after purchase. If the item has entered production, cancellation may not be possible or may incur a cancellation fee. We will confirm case-by-case based on seller policy.
Initiating a Cancellation
Contact Chairish as soon as possible. Be sure to include your Chairish order number and the reason that you wish to cancel. Cancellations are easier to accommodate before an item ships or enters production.
For Local Pickup and Delivery, you or your agent must reject the item at the time of pickup or delivery from the seller. After you take the item with you or accept the local delivery, the order cannot be cancelled, and the item is non-returnable.
Cancellations Due to Shipping/Delivery Delays
If the seller is unresponsive or your order has not shipped by the ship-by date we have communicated, contact Support. We will follow up with the seller and set a clear response or ship-by deadline. If that deadline passes without a response or a shipment, we can cancel the order and process your refund.
Similarly, if you no longer want your item due to delivery delays, we can cancel the order.
In either case, once an order has shipped or been handed to a carrier, the cancellation is processed as a standard return. You are then responsible for shipping costs both ways: the original outbound freight and the return freight back to our facility.
We will confirm the current shipping status and provide a clear cost breakdown before you decide. If you choose to proceed, reply to your order confirmation or contact support with your order number and a brief note (ex. "Cancel due to delay").
Next steps typically look like this:
- We verify whether the order has shipped.
- We quote the total shipping charges that would apply to a return (both directions).
- You confirm in writing that you accept those charges.
- We initiate the return with the carrier and send any required return authorization details.
- Your refund is processed after the item is received back and inspected; shipping charges are deducted.
If the order has not yet shipped, options may differ- contact us and we'll advise based on your order's status.
Please note, pre-orders, made-to-order items, and custom products may have longer production or shipping windows. We will communicate the relevant ship-by date and next steps for your specific order.
Refunds
Refunds are issues to your original payment method. Once we process a refund, most banks post the credit within 3–5 business days. You'll receive an email confirmation from us as soon as the refund is issued.
Processing times are controlled by your bank or card issuer and can vary by institution and payment method. Some banks or card issuers may take until the next statement cycle to display the credit, even if they have received it. If you don't see your refund after 5 business days, first check with your bank/card issuer. If it's still not visible, contact us and we'll review the refund details and assist further.
