This article provides sellers with steps to take and details to gather prior to creating a draft of their item listing.

Inspect Your Item
Our priority is to protect buyers, sellers, and our carrier partners. Items with active mold/mildew, pest infestations, strong or persistent odors, or other biohazards are not eligible for sale on Chairish and will not be re-sold if discovered post-purchase.
What is not allowed:
- Any item with visible or suspected active mold/mildew (e.g., fuzzy growth, spreading spots) or a musty odor.
- Items with live or recent pest activity (e.g., bed bugs, moths, roaches) or pest damage that could harbor eggs/larvae.
- Items contaminated with bodily fluids or other biohazards.
What may be acceptable with disclosure:
- Historical staining or discoloration from past exposure that has been fully remediated (no odor, no active growth), provided this is clearly described and photographed. When in doubt, don't list.
Damage prevention tips:
- Store inventory in clean, dry, ventilated spaces; use dehumidifiers or desiccants where needed.
- Avoid plastic bags for long-term textile storage; use breathable covers and clean items before storage.
- Inspect items before listing and again before shipment.
Pre-listing Self-Check
- Inspect the item under bright light for spots, fuzzy growth, or water damage lines.
- Smell test after airing out in a dry space; any musty odor is a red flag.
- For textiles, check seams, folds, and storage creases; for case goods, inspect backs/undersides.
- If you suspect mold or pests, do not list the item on Chairish.
Prepare Your Item
- Take photos of your item from every side, the top, and the bottom. Be sure to take detailed photos of any blemishes, marks, or labels. Review all our photography tips in our Photo Guide.
- Thoroughly measure your item. Some product categories require additional measurements beyond the overall height, width, and depth. Learn more in our Dimensions Guide.

Access the Listing Form
Creating a listing on Chairish is easy! There are two ways to create a listing, the very first step is to make sure you are signed in to your Chairish account. Don’t have an account yet? Click here! There are no fees for creating an account or listing on Chairish.
Option 1: From the log-in menu
Click on your name in the top right corner of the page- a drop-down menu will appear. Click the very first option, Sell an Item.
Option 2: Navigate to your Seller Dashboard. On the left side of the page, go to the “Selling” section, and then click on the Create Listing link.
Either of these options will take you directly to the listing form. You can take all the time you need when creating your draft. Make sure to save your progress by clicking the Save button in the top right corner of the listing form before closing the window.
